We have been receiving a lot of questions about how to measure your floor to order your laminate. We took an in-depth look at this subject in the how to measure your floor post, but we just stumbled upon this great video on YouTube that explains it further.
This video outlines the steps that you need to take to give you an idea of exactly how much flooring to order for your job. I always add about 10% on top just for the “in case” situations;)
Most hardware stores will let you return full cases of in-stock laminate flooring if you over buy. But if you special order your laminate always check what their policy’s are on returning special order flooring, I think most stores charge you a return fee.
However its always a good idea to at least keep one box over what you need for any repairs in the future. Also because of the way that laminate flooring gets discontinued on a regular basis from your local store, you may not be able to just go back in a few weeks and get the same thing.
–Remember always buy more than you need, but 10-20% more should keep you out of trouble! –
Anyway enjoy this video and remember you can always order through our links to get to the best deals online! -> Laminate Wood Store.
